waterfall Workshops
During 2022 I will be offering waterfall based workshops in the beautiful Brecon Beacons. The workshops will cover one-to-one sessions and small group sessions of up to 4 people.

The workshops will run at weekends from mid May to mid November when the waterfalls can be experienced at their best and with the best chance of decent weather.

Each workshop will be aimed at the beginner to intermediate photographer who already have a basic understanding of their cameras.

Key areas covered will be:
• Finding a composition
• Choosing the most effective shutter speed
• Focus stacking
• Using your cameras histogram to determine exposure

workshop locations
Here is an overview of the 3 locations that will be available for booking. Each location involves some sections of steep and slippery terrain especially in rainy conditions, so suitable footwear is a must as is waterproof clothing. You will have to provide your own transport to the location, a packed lunch and refreshments (especially a supply of water or squash as it's easy to get dehydrated, particularly in warm weather).
1: blaen y glyn
Located near the beautiful Tal-y-Bont reservoir, Blaen Y Glyn has around 12 waterfalls of various sizes to explore, all set in a fairly compact area that is close to the car park. Due to the compact nature of the trail, it is definitely the least physically demanding of the 3 workshops on offer.

3: Four falls trail
Probably the most spectacular waterfall trail in the Brecon Beacons. Consisting of 4 main waterfalls - Sgwd Clun-Gwyn, Sgwd Isaf Clun-Gwyn, Sgwd y Pannwr and Sgwd-yr-Eira. This trail is quite physically taxing and involves many very steep sections, including a walk behind Sgwd Yr Eira, so waterproof jacket is essential.

2: Elidir trail
The Elidir Trail is a favourite of many waterfall aficionados, probably because it is less busy than the Four Falls Trail and some think they have more character. The trail is also kinder to the legs with less hill climbing involved. I have included an extra waterfall to this itinerary 'Sychryd Falls' (bottom middle) is a worthy addition to the trail and will be part of the route during the longer days in the summer months.
